Ten Ways To Save Big Bucks On Your Wedding Photographs

Weddings are expensive and it shows when you cut corners.  Cheap venues, food and dresses will not not impress your guests.  The wedding photographer is a different manner because no one will see the photos on your wedding day anyway.

I personally know someone who has successfully used each of these ten techniques.   I may receive death threats from other photographers for passing this information on to you but I believe you have the right to know.

10 Ways to Save Big Bucks on Your Wedding Photographs

1.  Don't hire a photographer - perhaps one of your friends will get lucky with their iPhone.

2.  Hire someone who works cheap except for high reprint prices.  Ask your uncle to stand behind them and get the same shots.  Don't buy any prints - get the ones your uncle took made into prints at Wal-Mart

3.  Hire a family member to help them get stated. That will allow them to get some experience and also be able to afford to try out a new camera at your wedding.

4.  There is usually someone on craigslist who works cheap and is willing to give you all the files.  Make sure you get the copyright release so you can get them printed at Wal-Mart.

5.  Buy a bunch of disposable cameras and put them on each table.  Ask guests to use them to photograph your wedding.  It's really cute when someone lets their two year old take photos.

6.  Do your own Photoshop.  You can turn awful photos into masterpieces.

7. Outsource. Have someone local take a few photos of your face.  Labor is cheap in India.  They can Photoshop your face into photos of some really fabulous weddings.

8.  Find a photographer that will put the proofs online.  Find a computer geek who will show you how to download them without paying.

9.  Scan the proofs and make prints on your inkjet printer.  Regular paper is cheaper than the photo paper so you can cut costs there as well.

10.  Take your wedding photos yourself.  Rent a tripod and really good camera.  Have them show you how the self timer works.  Once you press the shutter you will have 10 seconds to get back into the pose.
