Spray and Pray research is like Googling "Spray and Pray" and finding a dozen quotes. You may not agree with all the quotes but you see that people have definite opinions.
"I’m not going to even get into
the ‘spray and pray’ mentality so prevalent these days, but I do admit getting
sucked into the ‘social networking/blogging’ aspect instead of just creating,
back when it was old school…just me, a subject, camera, and processing film in
a darkroom. " Christi Falls
“Many photographers have gone before
us armed with 12 shots loaded in a Hasselblad”
Kat Braman
"If you’re having to spray and
pray then maybe, just maybe, you need to get your business started on a
different kind of job." Zack
Arias
"It's one of the most divisive
techniques and terms in photography. Spray and pray refers to shoot as many
photos as possible and hope that one turns out acceptable. This doesn't mean
just taking a lot of photos, but to basically shoot everything without thinking
in hopes of "dumb luck" kicking in and saving you." Liz
Masoner
"Remember Jeff Foxworthy ... "If you do ________, you just might be a redneck"? Well, if you're shooting over 2000 images at a wedding, you just might be a spray-and-prayer" D. Diggler
"What if every photo you took cost you $1, would you spray and pray. This is a mentality for all photographers especially beginners with Nikon D3100, D5100, D7000, and Canon shooters with T1i, T2i, T3i and 60d. Jared Polin
"spray and pray is weak as hell. It is not photography it just what those who don't know what they are doing do. It reminds me of those action movies when the dumb ass empties his clips of ammo in the bush because he heard a sound...dumbass...just dumbass!" goodtimes616
"Spray and pray is the fastest way to waste ammo. period. no good can come of it. you are randomly firing your weapon into the air trying to hit an enemy... The only exception: Fatman. Just hit in the general area and it wont matter if you hit them or not." fo3hts
"Don't we all spray and pray... just a little?" eNoBlog
"except if you're trying to have a baby... then its good advice, no?" RichardLavigne
"Or if you're not trying to have a baby" qwyjibo
